I read a news report or hear breaking news and I feel like I’m reading a section from the Bible describing what it will be like in the Last Days. I am constantly being stunned as I see current events proving God’s Word, and I can know what to expect, I’ve read it!
One of the main reasons I started this blog was to explain to my family and friends who may be looking around themselves saying, “What on earth is going on?”. I want to share a Christian perspective regarding the times we are living. To many of us things are looking pretty scary, others just figure we always go through ups and downs and this is just part of a cycle. Personally, I’m in the things look pretty scary category, but when I become distressed, I look to God and His Word for answers. Over 4000 years ago prophets of God outlined what would be happening in the Last Days. Over 2000 years ago Jesus and some of His apostles explained what we could expect. The prophets did the best they could with their current day perspective to describe what they saw and what would occur. Some of the things God showed them were sealed until the Last Days. Until now we couldn’t have understood, the kind of technology described did not exist and couldn’t have been imagined. Just since the last century, we entered the modern age; the invention of engines, cars, flying, telephones, televisions, computers…
Even as few as 50 years ago we were just beginning to enter the technological age. Remember your first computer, we called it a calculator? Christians believed what the Bible said about the Mark of the Beast, but didn’t know how it could be done. Now not only is the technology that will make it possible in use, our society has declined to the point we would not only allow but possibly embrace the opportunity to be chipped. The idea is being marketed to appeal, and I admit the purposes being put forth are interesting and attractive. After all, who wouldn’t want to have the ability to find a lost child or pet? And the possibility that it would not only prevent identity theft, but also make it easier when you went to pay for your purchases. The safety that could be derived from having all your medical information on your chip would be well worthwhile. After all, if you have an emergency those attending would know all about your medical issues and medications. And it could certainly make airline security measures much simpler! Who wouldn’t welcome that?
And now we can clearly understand some of the mysteries spoken of by Bible prophets. Some of their visions described things that we now know to be aircraft and nuclear warfare. We can also understand how people could be controlled on a global level, how a computerized mark on can be put on their foreheads or hands that could control everyone’s ability to function in our society.
Many people reject the idea that this could be the last days because since the time of Christ there have been those who have said it was the Last Days. Even that rejection was given as a sign that we are indeed in that time. But this is just one of the signs. There are many others that had to be in effect before we could draw the conclusion that we are indeed entering those times.
For the sake of brevity, I won’t go into them all now, that’s not the point of this particular article, perhaps in the future I’ll detail them. But my concern with this is simply to say, Family, Friends, these are critical times we are living in. We are on the precipice. We are seeing our world spiral out of control and it will continue to do so. Things will not get better, but there is hope. Do not be blinded by our leaders’ rhetoric or your own fear or confusion. God is in control and He is good. It is His desire that we will see our rebellion and turn to Him; asking for His forgiveness and His help. He will turn from His judgment and restore us. It can be on a national, community, church, or family level or He will forgive and pour His mercy on the one that turns to Him.
