Still Today God So Loves Man II

Still today God so loves man (The voice of God)
There are millions of voices out there just fighting to get our attention. Just to name a few there is the television, radio, internet and the crowds of people that we come across daily in
our lives. Then there are the voices in our thoughts. God wants to be there. He wants to have fellowship with us. He not only wants us to talk to Him but He wants to talk
with us. What is fellowship without communication? Jesus said “My sheep hear my voice”. What voice? I struggled with this because I would hear so many people say “God said
this”, “I have a word from the Lord”, “Thus says the Lord”, etc. And many times the evidence said something totally difference. I was afraid to say “the Lord told me” or “I have a
word from the Lord”. Have you ever felt that way?
Studies have shown that a new born baby can pick out his or her mother’s voice in a crowd of people. So, if a new born baby can pick out a voice surely we should be able to hear the voice
of the Lord, especially if He says we can, don’t you think? But, that baby spends hours every day with their mom! Do we spend that much time with the Lord? God wants us to spend
time with Him and He wants us to hear his voice! We need to hear Him or we will lose Him! This is a dark world and we cannot see him!
I began to ask God to teach me to hear His voice. This story is real and was the beginning of an awesome walk with God that has led me over the years and has often surprised me how much He
cares for us and how He wants to be a part of our lives in fellowship with Him.
I used to be in the swimming pool business and would travel all over the state of Oregon working on swimming pools. I loved having time to spend talking to the Lord and worshiping Him as I
drove from job to job. But, my conversations were one way. I didn’t know His voice, but I let Him know I wanted to hear Him. One day I had to acid wash a swimming pool about an
hour and a half away and as I was worshiping the Lord I heard a voice, a small voice. The voice was different but very quiet, something about the voice was different and some how I knew it
was the Lord. I had several boxes of acid for cleaning the pool and the Lord said quietly but clear as a bell “you need some clean boxes so keep the boxes clean”. I thought “why do I
need clean boxes?”, I always used the boxes to haul away all the mess from cleaning the pool and for the empty acid jugs. I thought maybe God wants me to move or something so I will need
some boxes. I was sure it was God who said “keep the boxes clean, you need clean boxes”. When I got to the job I took the acid out of the boxes and placed them away from where I was
working so I could keep them clean.
While I was working I noticed there were a several apple trees that were loaded with ripe apple and many had fallen onto the ground and were just rotting. I decided to try one of those
apple on the ground, It was the best tasting apple I had ever eaten. I wanted to ask the owner if I could pick up some of the apples on the ground to take home but even though I worked late
the owner never showed up. The next day I came back to finish up the job. Again, the owner was not home and I could not ask him if I could have a few apples to take home. It was
getting late and I was done cleaning up the site and the only thing I had left to do before I headed home was to load up the clean boxes that I had set aside as the Lord requested. As I
stepped around the back of the house to get the boxes the property owner stepped out onto the back porch and said “If you have some clean boxes, take some of those apples home with you”. I
could here the Lord say “some clean boxes”. I thanked him and could hardly hold back the tears. God is so wonderful!!! It was His voice and He wanted to make a big impression
because He loved me so much. I began to pick up apples from the ground and to place them into the boxes and the property owner came out again and said “not those, take the good ones from
the trees. You know as good as those apples were, that got lost in the excitement of knowing beyond a doubt that I heard the Lord and He was as excited about it as I was.
God continues to speak and yes surprise me over and over. God loves you and wants to have this same fellowship with you. Spend time with Him, get to know Him, and remember He wants
you to hear His voice more than you do…He wants fellowship with you…will you fellowship with Him?
