Veil Over The Church
In the middle of the night I was tossing and turning with an uneasiness brought about while watching the movie, “The Son of God”. Besides the concern that so many words were left out of the quotes from the Bible, I was troubled by the fact that the “Church of that day”, when Jesus came for them, could not see the truth. They were following what they were taught…at least they thought they were. And now Jesus is about to come again, and the “Church of our day” is unresponsive. They don’t want to hear that the Lord is coming soon. They don’t want to hear the Watchman.
I heard the Lord saying “pastors are putting a veil over the people”. Their programs are designed to make people feel comfortable. It is filling the Churches with people that want affirmation, enjoyment, blessing and personal peace, but they don’t want to change their ways. They want to be told they are forgiven and they have a home in Heaven but they don’t want to hear they are supposed to “go and sin no more”. I kept hearing about that veil, how it was a deception from satan, a false religion. Then He showed me in His Word where we are to take up our cross daily and crucify the flesh. He is coming for a Church without spot of sin. Then He reminded me where this condition is prophesied in His Word about the end time Church. These pastors will find themselves left alone in their church because the people found out they were not ready for the return of the Lord. Oh, the fear, the oppressing fear that comes on them and to those who found they were not ready.
When Jesus comes, the Bible says many will be sitting in church with a veil covering themselves because they don’t want to be convicted. They only want affirmation and nothing else, especially if it makes them feel uneasy or requires them to give up something. Don’t be deceived. The Word of God clearly teaches of Godly conviction. It is how we feel when we see sin in ourselves in the presence of God. Have you ever wondered why God told the Jews to be circumcised? It was a sign that God wanted men to be sensitive to Him. There are many references in the Bible that talk about that closeness and openness. In the New Testament He told us to remove the veil from our hearts and when Christ died on the cross the veil in the temple was torn in two by God because Christ made it possible for us to walk into the presence of God.
Not all want to be in the presence of God because in His presence is conviction. Everywhere in Scripture where God’s presence was strong, men fell on their faces before Him…they saw their true selves and were afraid. When Moses came down from the mountain after being in the presence of God, his face was lit up like a light and the Jews were afraid, so they made Moses wear a veil over his face. They did not want to see their sin.
God wants us to come into His presence to be with Him, and so we can see what we need to clean out of our lives. James teaches us that looking into God’s Word will do the same and we are to respond to that conviction by removing the sin that caused it. The reward is joy and peace in the presence of God.
Remove the covering, get into God’s presence, and get rid of those sins before it is too late.
Act fast before it is too late. Gather the flock, repent, and teach the true Gospel of repentance. Why bring people to the Cross of forgiveness if you are just going to let them continue in sin because you don’t want to offend them or make them feel uncomfortable. God says those pastors are responsible and will have the blood of their flock on their hands.
